 REPOSITION YOUR FAITH FOR A MAXIMUM IMPACT


READINGS


Hebrews 11: 1-6


Matthew 9:25-29 

(Illustration of Faith that Needs Repositioning): The disciples trusted Jesus for eternal life. However, when they saw Jesus demand the sacrifice of wealth in order to follow Him they were doubtful and asked, "Who them can be saved" and "... we have left all things to follow you: what shall we get?" The Lord 'repositions' their faith by telling them that faithful walk with Him also results in multiple restoration of whatever they sacrificially lose.


OBSERVE


1. Faith is defined as CONFIDENCE & EVIDENCE in Hebrews 11:1


"Now faith is CONFIDENCE in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."(NIV)


"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen." (NKJV)


2. Living by Faith is what defines the Godly since creation: it is the common denominator for salvation pre-Christ and since Christ.


"since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith."

Romans 3:30 NKJV


3. There are benefits in Christ that are not necessarily enumerated, but which we are confident of by implication, and therefore walk as if we have them.


"And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life."

Matthew 19:29 NKJV


4. Without the confidence in what we do not yet have, no one can please God, because no one will risk jeopardizing FISHERMEN income for the immeasurable income of a FISHER OF MEN.


5. With faith, our demeanor is always positive as should be, and we don't miss any opportunity for sacrificial service. We know that whatever God has promised, He will provide IF we proceed to serve Him faithfully.


CONCLUSION


The disciples had a "So far" (EBENEZER, 1Samuel 7:12) faith, but Jesus wanted them and us to have an "all the way" (EMMANUEL, Matthew 1:22; 28:20) faith. As we demonstrate confidence in all that we hope for in Christ, He will cause us to produce evidence of the unseen God throughout our lives.
