EXISTENCE OF GOD

TWELVE IN THE BIBLE ANSWER THE EXISTENCE OF GOD QUESTION

GENESIS: Humans alone dominate all creation because they alone are in the image of God the Creator. "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”(Genesis 1:27‭-‬28)

HAGAR: Although God cannot be seen, He sees me, and I have seen Him through His angel that He sent to help me in the desert, so "I have seen the God who sees me". (Genesis 16:13)

MOSES: "And the Lord spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the sound of the words, but saw no form; you only heard a voice."(Deuteronomy 4:12)

DAVID: It is unwise to conclude in your heart that there is no God, for that is proof that you embark on evil ways, and so want to wish away ultimate accountability. (ref. Psalm 14:1)

JOB: Through God's direct authoritative answers to my queries, I can confidently declare, “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You."(Job 42:5)

JOHN: "No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.(John 1:18) God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”(John 4:24)

ECCLESIASTES: Our desire for longevity masks our desire for eternity, which is actually put in our heart by God, whose works are all eternal.

ISAIAH: No one else has declared things he will do in the distant future (beyond a lifetime) and proceeded to do them. “I have declared the former things from the beginning; They went forth from My mouth, and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.(Isaiah 48:3)

PAUL: (a) God has the attributes of an invisible one: "because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, (Romans 1:19‭, 20)

(b) Jesus Christ embodies the fullness of God. "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily" (Colossians 2:9)

HEBREWS: (a) Jesus Christ is the full expression of God. "who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power ..."(Heb. 1:3)

(b) It takes holiness to see God. "Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord"(Hebrews 12:14)

(c) The journey to know God for yourself must begin with faith and be characterized by diligence. "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."(Hebrews 11:6)

JAMES: All matters of righteousness turn on belief in the existence of God. "You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?"(James 2:19‭, 20)

JESUS CHRIST: Whoever has seen me has seen God. "I and My Father are one.”(John 10:30) Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?(John 14:9)
