ATONEMENT & REPENTANCE

JESUS:  This is what is written: "The Messiah will SUFFER and rise from the dead on the third day, and REPENTANCE for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." Luke 24:46-47

PAUL: First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should REPENT and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds. ... I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen – that the Messiah would SUFFER and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles. Acts 26:20, 22-24

PAUL: For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ DIED FOR OUR SINS according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, ... Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’ Come back to your senses as you ought, and STOP SINNING; for there are some who are ignorant of God – I say this to your shame” 1 Corinthians 15: 3,4,35,34

NB: To emphasize one at the expense of the other is no preaching. In brief, "Christ has died for you, so repent."
