Two Parts of the 10 Commandments
- A Reflection on National and Personal Life

Part A: LOVE GOD
1. No other God
2. No idols
3. No misuse of God's name
4. Observe Sabbath
5. Honour your parents

Part B: LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR
6. No murder
7. No adultery
8. No stealing
9. No falsehood
10. No greed or envying

You would hardly see a modern nation with laws for the first part, but there is no country without laws for the second part. Yet, without love for God, the only one with the capacity to unite us in one meaningful family, true selfless love for others is impossible.

We wipe out the requirement to love God, not because we don't believe in His existence, but because we have replace love for Him with LOVE FOR MONEY. No wonder, it is the ECONOMY that virtually drives all decisions of governance, interpersonal and even international relations.

We are really missing out big time. Come to think of it: without God and eternal life, all our efforts at making it in life are really wasted, and our best parental and patriotic inclinations are just HYPOCRISY.

Let's care to reflect on these and restore or deepen our relationship with the Eternal One.

 FOR BETTER FOR WORSE FOR GOOD Your spouse isn't in your life simply to give you blissful days. He or she is in also to improve your character by stretching it to limits no one else can.  Just like change of lesson at school, couples regularly give each other bad days without even intending to. Those are all providential too. That is why every marriage looks nicer from the outside, at least soon as the honeymoon is over. Over time, after you've learnt to trust better and let some things go, you'll understand that you've been forged for greater things.  During the 'difficult lesson' periods, consider first which aspects of your own character is being dealt with, and try and make amends, otherwise, you'll have to do remedials several times over.  You focus also on God's overall goodness to you, and make room to thank Him.
