WHAT JESUS HAS DONE TO SIN

Jesus Christ is relevant to people of the Earth now mainly because of the issue of sin.

WHAT IS SIN?

Sin is simply the UNWILLINGNESS TO SUBMIT TO GOD OR HIS WORD. God made us, owns us, and gave us free will to honor Him as loving children, so when we freely choose not to love or obey Him, wishing we are on our own, we sin against Him. That is the sin of the first man and woman, and we their offspring all have been groomed with that nature.

WHAT IS THE CONSEQUENCE OF SIN?

When we are unwilling to submit to God or His word we automatically forfeit the right to be sustained by God. That is death. Temporarily, we forfeit His care and guidance, set ourselves in conflict against God’s rule and become candidates for God’s judgment.

Having forfeited God’s care, everything that follows the order of God then contradicts us (SUFFERING). (Apparently, we are able to control nature to some extent, even though we have sinned, only because God in His grace subjected nature to us, temporarily).

Having forfeited God’s guidance, we become subject to the ‘guidance’ of nature and natural instincts only and therefore our character degenerates, as we start behaving like animals, sometimes worse! (DEPRAVITY)

Permanently, if we fail to return to God after many warnings and eventually die in our sin, we face God’s judgment and eternal punishment (WRATH).

FIVE KEY THINGS THAT JESUS DID TO SIN

The main reason why Jesus came to Earth was to destroy Satan’s works, namely his power to deceive men and women to remain rebellious to God or His word, and the consequent SUFFERING and DEGENERATION and also thereby save us from God’s WRATH.

1. Jesus EXPOSED SIN as the cause of all our problems.

2. Jesus showed that it is possible to LIVE WITHOUT SIN even on Earth.

3. Jesus showed God’s full commitment to FORGIVE OUR SIN and restore us.

4. Jesus paid the full PENALTY FOR OUR SIN, giving the repented instant access to God.

5. Jesus WEAKENED THE POWER OF SIN over us by the greater power of the Holy Spirit in us.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO SIN

Repent of your sins and commit to remain submitted to God and His Word. This is the message of Jesus Christ. If you believe in Him, you have the full benefit of escape from the power and consequence of sin. If you don’t you remain in your sin and all its consequence.
