BEING LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD – II

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God” (Rom. 8:14 NLT).


God has promised in His Word to lead His people and communicate with them through the Holy Spirit. The reasons include:

· God's desire to draw closer to His people and reveal His purposes to them

·The presence of a cacophony of voices from human philosophy, wrong and demonic teachings and a great onslaught on the Church · Complacency and suffering of God's people

· God's provision for His redeemed people to stand the test of deception

· God's provision for His redeemed people to forsake and overcome complacency so that they would be restored to God's blessings and purposes and to be refreshed with fulfilment

“And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God's guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him” (Eph. 1:13-14).

To be led by the Spirit of God requires the following:

I. Submitting to the Spirit of God and the move of the Spirit of God (Jn. 3:8)

ii. Obedience to the Spirit of God (Heb. 3:7-15)

iii. Being filled by the Spirit of God (Eph. 5: 18-21)

iv. Being gifted by Spirit of God (Rom. 12:6-8; 12; 1Cor. 12:4-11, 28-30; Eph 4:10; 1Pt. 4:10-12) v. Being by baptised in the Spirit of God(Mk. 16:15-16; Acts 1:8; 2:4; 19:1)

vi. Being able to test the spirits and deciding for the Lord's way (1Jn. 4:1-5; 1Cor. 14:29, 32-33)

God's promises are true, sure, “yes” and Amen; it does not fail, even if it delays (Mt. 7:7-11; 2Cor. 1:18-20). Therefore, God's redeemed people should:

· Expect the promise (Lk. 24:44-49; Acts 1:4-5, 8)

· Wait for the promise (Acts 1:12-14; 2:1); and

· Catch the promise (Acts 2:2-4)
Beloved, as the Holy Spirit led the early Christians, and the beginnings of the Church, we should allow Him to lead us and influence everything we do so we could attain God's purpose for us, and bring glory to His Name. You are a child of God! Walk in the Spirit of God!!

He or she is in also to improve your character by stretching it to limits no one else can.  Just like change of lesson at school, couples regularly give each other bad days without even intending to.
